New Eltham
New Eltham is in the Royal Borough of Greenwich, south east London, with good transport to
central London and is close to Greenwich and the Kent countryside.
It has 3 main shopping areas, one along Footscray Road either side of the Library and the Station,
one over the railway bridge down Avery Hill Road, and one on the A20 to Five Ways. It is surrounded by green space
from the many sports clubs, Avery Hill Park, Fairy Hill and Southwood Park behind the Library.
The library building also houses a very successful Community Centre, run by the New Eltham Community Centre.
They run various regular activities such as U3A classes, a Coffee Shop, craft and exercise groups as well
as hiring out the venue.
